Launched in January 2004, Boltfish recordings is owned and run by CHEjU and MINT, long time musical collaborators and friends. Their exploration into experimental sound dates back as far as the mid-1980s and they have been pushing the boundaries ever since.

Boltfish is a music label specialising in electronic and organic sounds. This includes idm, glitch, and electronica.

We release music on CD at cost price, via Digital Download through a variety of online retailers such as ITunes, Beatport and MSN as well as some music free of charge online.

From its inception in 2004 Boltfish released its music once a month, building a catalogue of nearly 50 releases, including 3 compilations, from artists across the globe.

In 2009 Boltfish changed its presentation as follows:

• Our CD album releases are now packaged in Digipaks.
• Where possible, bonus materials such as limited edition DVDs featuring specially commissioned videos will be produced.
• Our release schedule encompasses 4 core CD releases per year - all albums, plus occasional 'Digital Only' releases.
• Most CD releases are produced in limited edition, but the majority of our existing back-catalogue remains available via Digital Download (via ITunes, Beatport, Napster, MSN etc). Some releases may still be available on CD through other retailers.
